50s Frenzy

I just couldn’t help myself today, we were out for a walk in the sunshine and stumbled across a closing down sale in a Vintage Shop. What’s a girl to do! Leave the baby and boyfriend and dive in. There really were so many lovely things. After spying all the handbags (my weakness) I managed to sidestep nicely and headed straight to the older dresses.
I could not leave without adding these guys to my collection, and yes I will be parting with them again.. Alas.
I have two fairs coming up this spring where the enthasis is on pre 1970s so I have been collecting some star pieces to show off, and these dresses I found today are just fab. Although one or two might make it into our Etsy shop.

This is my favourite, 1950s Sundress it’s made in a beautiful thick cotton. I just love the blue and the yellow, and the skirt is perfectly proportioned.
Size X-Small

1940s Floral Day Dress. Very pretty simple and elegant. I love the elastic rouching at the shoulders, a classic 1940s touch. The print really reminds me of a vintage Liberty Pattern.
Size: Large

And this one I’m keeping!!! Ooo I love it! And it fits just about perfectly. I have a massive soft spot for all things polka, and the red trimmings and the pockets, well it’s just one perfect dress. I’m saving it for ether our honeymoon or to wear at my friends wedding.
What a fab find of a day. I may have to go back for more!!
