I’m Jessie and I’ve been working as a vintage trader fro 10 + years. So here’s a brief outline of what I’ve been doing and how I got into working in vintage and marketing. – Don’t worry I’ll keep it brief.
My vintage story started in Birmingham back in 2003 – Learning some tricks of the retail trade, how to style for fashion shoots, clients and merchandising.
Returning from my home town of Norwich a few years later, I opened my own vintage store in the Norwich Lanes, RubyRumba. I had the. time. of. my. life. selling vintage, running my own business at 22 with out any guidance, partying hard. (actually where I met my husband, but thats another story) and after 2 years of trading learning mistakes the hard way.
After a brief spell in Cork, Ireland studying fashion design, I now work full-time on my own online vintage store Super Queenie Retro. – where I have sold a ton of vintage. Working from the ground up to to create a busy online business. It’s the perfect job especially as a stay at home mum, but now my daughter is at school and I realised that being an online vintage seller gives me more cash and more flexibility than getting a 9-5 ever would.
